We want to unleash God’s generosity through you, His people.
Generosity is a gift to us from the first and most generous giver, God. The Bible says in James 1:17, “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father….”
From the very beginning, God has displayed his unparalleled generosity in His sovereign plan of creation and redemption. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. (John 3:16) Let that truth resonate in your heart! Our generous God spared nothing, not even His only begotten Son, so that we could be radically saved from our sins and live forever in heaven with Him! Because God has been extraordinarily generous to us by giving us His Son, we are empowered to be extraordinarily generous toward others.
Jesus tells us that God gives us financial means so that we can share what we have been given with others in need, not out of a sense of guilt or obligation but cheerfully and willingly. The truth is, we can’t receive from Jesus His joy when our fists are clinched trying to hold on to what He has given us to invest in His mission.
God says, “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this," says the LORD of hosts, "if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows.” (Malachi 3:10)
And in 2 Corinthians 9:6-8, the Bible says, … he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed.
Clearly, the Bible shows us God’s promise that His blessing flows back into the space where gospel-centered generosity was poured out. You can trust the promises of God because God’s promises never fail! You simply can’t out give God.
The church is God’s Plan A to take the Gospel to the entire world (Mark 16:15; Acts 1:8). And there is no Plan B. There is no organization in the world with more potential to change the world than the local church!
As His church, Jesus mission is our mission (Matthew 28:18-20). Simply put, our mission is to make disciples who multiply the church of Jesus Christ in every generation. And when it comes to unleashing your generosity, that means seeing people and families become fully devoted disciples of Jesus living in the extraordinary overflow of God’s blessing through gospel-centered generosity toward the mission of Jesus Christ.
According to God’s generosity to you, how will you invest in the mission of Jesus through Dutch Cove?
